Poster Redesign
In college, I had the opportunity to learn how to master Adobe Creative Suite from my teacher. One of the assignments he gave us was to completely overhaul a poster using the design principle C.R.A.P. This principle emphasizes the importance of contrast, repetition, alignment, and proximity. By truly understanding and applying C.R.A.P, I have gained the ability to consistently create impactful designs regardless of the format.
The proof is shown below of the before and after of a bonfire poster.
The original poster showcases a wealth of information and a captivating campfire illustration. In the redesign, my goal was to highlight the essence of a bonfire, as it is the central focus of the poster. This was a deliberate application of contrast, in line with the C.R.A.P. principle. To enhance repetition, bullet points were utilized to convey the event details concisely and eliminate any unnecessary wording. Additionally, the text was strategically aligned on both the left and right sides for maximum impact.
